About the Artist
My journey began…
In 2018, at a humble studio tucked away in Chip Bee Gardens. I started off like any other hobbyist potter's adventure, from Youtube videos to Pinterest boards, and finally, actually getting my hands into clay.
An ongoing process
Pottery wasn't the easiest hobby I've picked up, but it was certainly one of the most transformative things that has happened to me. The more I felt challenged, the longer I stayed, and the more I fell in love with the details, dedication and discipline of the craft.
Working with clay was therapeutic, but not necessarily always in a “zen” way. In many was, I felt confronted and challenged.
Changes ensued. From how attuned I was to my my senses, to my bodily awareness, and attitude towards art or life in general. Each time I tried to speed up, the clay in my hands would urge me to slow down and rest before picking up the pace again.
At KARA Clay, we believe that ongoing change brings about endless possibilities in the same way that clay moves and morphs in our hands.
A word of gratitude to all visitors:
If you're reading this, I'm sure you made your way here intentionally somehow. I want to thank you for making a difference to my journey, and for being a part of this story of mine.
